Sync Status & Feedback

The InkCompanion extension provides real-time feedback to ensure your collection data is always accurate and synchronized with Fountain Pen Companion.

Visual Feedback System

We use clear visual indicators to keep you informed about the status of your data sync:

  • Browser Notifications: A "Sync Successful" notification appears within 2 seconds of a successful API response.
  • Icon Badges: The extension icon updates to a green checkmark on success, or a red exclamation mark if a sync fails.

Error Handling

If a synchronization issue occurs, the extension popup displays a clear error banner:

Sync Error: API Limit Reached. Please try again later.

Security & Data Integrity

Your data privacy is our priority. The extension uses your stored OAuth token to scope all API requests exclusively to your authenticated Fountain Pen Companion account. This ensures:

  • Account Isolation: Data is only retrieved from or modified in your specific account.
  • Cross-User Protection: Prevents any possibility of cross-user data access or modification.
